      Publisher W.W. Norton has acquired the rights to reprint The R. Crumb Handbook and The Sweeter Side . Both will have some revisions and new introductions. Meanwhile no date has been set for Norton's Book of Genesis which Crumb has been working on for the past few years and is nearing completion.

      The R. Crumb's Underground exhibition travels to Philadelphia's Institute of Contemporary Art , September 5 to December 7.

    • The November New York Contemporary Art Report reproduces 4 placemat drawings from the Paul Morris Gallery show. Two of these drawings do not appear in Waiting For Food 2 and will probably never be seen in print again! (So buy lots of copies and in a year you can sell 'em on Ebay for BIG bucks.)

    • The Complete Crumb Vol. 14 is now available at better comic shoppes across the land.

    • A revised edition of Phoebe Gloeckner's book "A Child's Life" has been published with a new cover, more material, and Crumb's original introduction and portrait of the author.

    • Big Fun on the Bayou is the title of G�rard D�le's newest CD on the DOM label with cover by Mr. C. The February issue of BeauxArts magazine has a Crumb feature with several reprints. AND - the May 11 issue of Rolling Stone has a brief news item on the World Musette CD reprinting the cover and a photo.

    • The Legendary BBC documentary The Confessions of Robert Crumb will be available on video in May. You can pre-order a copy at CD NOW or AMAZON.

    • Drinking with Bukowski - a collection of writing about the man by people who new him is expected in June from Thunder's Mouth Press. Cover portrait by Crumb.

    • The previously mentioned drawing of Tina Lockwood is also available in the April issue of Talk magazine.

    • JUXTAPOZ # 25 (March/April) has a previously unpublished drawing of body- builder Tina Lockwood in a news item about the upcoming exhibit at New York's New Museum of Contemporary Art: Picturing the Modern Amazon.     • France is the place to be for Crumb-ophiles. New from Corn�lius: Sans Issue - a collection of stories about lonely and desparate characters. Mr. Natural from T�te-rock Underground is the first of 4 volumes of reprints. Les Primitifs du Futur have a new CD World Musette with Mr C. playing banjo and mandolin on most tracks with cover and interior art. The February issue of Jazzman magazine has a great drawing of Bessie Smith on the cover.

    KITCHEN SINK FOLDS!

    After nearly 30 years of publishing comix and books Kitchen sink Press will close at the end of January. The Calendar and Devil Girl Hot Kisses Candy are currently available, but the revised Checklist, postcard book, mini calendar, and metal signs have been cancelled. No doubt the Fiene/ Boucher book will be picked up by another publisher. I would like to thank Denis Kitchen for a job well done over the years and wish him luck in any future endeavors.
